Historia de la fuerza repasa la evolución técnica, material y estructural en España, tomando como hilo conductor la historia moderna de su ingeniería.
La obra de David Bestué supone su personalísimo posicionamiento ante la inexistencia de un bagaje de pensamiento sobre la materia en nuestro país, y surge de la necesidad de trazar una visión panorámica de la figura del ingeniero y su problemática relación con la técnica y la estética, señalando el estrecho vínculo que existe entre ingeniería, política y economía.
David Bestué (Barcelona, 1980) es uno de los artistas más singulares de la escena del arte contemporáneo en España, desarrollando un cuerpo de trabajo que abarca el vídeo, la escritura o la escultura. Su interés por la materialidad de nuestro país se ha plasmado en exposiciones como Piedras y poetas, Realismo o La España moderna. Su próxima exposición individual tendrá lugar en el Museo Reina Sofía el próximo otoño.

The work of David Bestué captures his highly personal position on the lack of a corpus of thought related to material in Spain. It arises out of the need to construct a panoramic view of the figure of the engineer and his/her problematic relationship with the technical and the aesthetic, highlighting the close ties existing among engineering, politics and the economy.
David Bestué (Barcelona, 1980) is one of the most unusual artists on the contemporary art scene in Spain. His body of work encompasses video, writing and sculpture. His interest in the materiality of Spain has manifested in exhibitions including Piedras y poetas (Stones and Poets), Realismo (Realism), and La España moderna (Modern Spain). His next solo exhibit will be held at the Reina Sofía Museum this autumn.
